Abstract

PETLAB, GNS’s national rock repository, is an Oracle relational database that stores the location and sample information of rock samples from across the country. The database is based on an open file, data sharing IP model. PET (sample and location) data are available free of charge. LAB (analytical) data can be acquired by contributing data or acquiring a licence for $2,500 per year. In 2010, PETLAB was modified to include borehole interval data. Data available in PETLAB is visible online at: http://pet.gns.cri.nz/
